Wrapping Up August

Greetings from Music Class!

This week in Kindergarten we have been exploring music that is high and low.
We are able to sing, speak and move high and low when we hear the music change.
We practiced this with "Teasing Song". Students are able to move high, middle and low as the music changes.

Our favorite activity this week was playing Ballerinas and Soldiers.
The students march like soldiers when the music is low and twirl like ballerinas when the music is high.

1st and 2nd graders are finishing up their study of Mr. Vivaldi. They should be able to tell you 5 facts about him and which season was their favorite to listen to.
This week, we ended with "Spring" and showed the story from the poem with scarves.
The students got to be happy people, birds, the murmuring stream or the thunder and lightening.

Springtime is upon us.
The birds celebrate her return with festive song,
and murmuring streams are softly caressed by the breezes.
Thunderstorms, those heralds of Spring, roar, casting their dark mantle over heaven,
Then they die away to silence, and the birds take up their charming songs once more.
