My sincerest well wishes go out to each of you. I miss all of you dearly and wish I could see your beautiful faces this week. As you know, our concert has been cancelled along with many other things. I am sad you did not get your time to shine on the stage. We have been working hard together and I want you to know that your work was not for nothing! Each day that you decide to work hard builds character and good habits for life. My hope is that the music we sang, and played, and danced to, is deep in your hearts. Let it bring joy to your heart and put a smile on your face. Be kind to your families, be patient with each other, and remember to still find time to enjoy every day. *
You should be receiving short activities to incorporate music into your week. Our heart is to keep it simple, but meaningful as we navigate the weeks ahead.
This coming week's assignment that will be in your first packet is:
Day 1
1st Time Listening: Choose your position
(sitting, standing, laying down) and listen only using your “thinking voice”.
Move while you listen with 2 or more body parts.
2nd Time Listening: Draw what the music makes you
think of ( a picture, shapes, lines, or write words).
Day 2
3rd & 4th Time Listening: On the back of your
drawing, divide the paper into 4 sections. Fill them in with: 1) Composer
and Title 2) Music Words (Presto/ Largo and Piano/Forte)
3) Instruments you hear 4) Mood (how it makes you feel)

*Today I am enjoying the beautiful cello music of Yo Yo Ma, Songs from the Arc of Life , while sitting outside and reading a book.
